Join me for a special experience.
There’s a place I know. In many ways it is like any other place.
The people who live there wake up every day, take care of their families, go to work, and live their lives. But it is also a special place. Its people express themselves through the food they grow just outside their doors. They are intimately connected to their history and families. They are not a culture of people who occupy a place. They are truly of the place. Surrounding mountains and the sea sustain them. Conversations drift from national politics to a particular pasta sauce with equal passion, intensity, understanding, awareness, respect, and depth. In this place you sense the pride that each person has for it, from the mayor to the farmer, for the things that make it special. Few things give these people greater joy than sharing this way of life and experience with others.
Life slows down in this place. The daily pace is determined by the fundamental things in life.
Things like: how long it takes to age wine perfectly, for olives to ripen to make the best oil, or how long it takes to properly digest the food that is eaten. These kinds of things take their own time. These things cannot be rushed. Technology cannot provide shortcuts. They take their own time and the people live accordingly. Time is not money here. Be inspired by the rising and the setting of the sun, as they are everyday.
The greatest gift one can give in planning a vacation is to go where the traveler can feel this kind of simple difference, a place where they can be reminded that there is a different rhythm to the way the world usually works. When choosing a travel destination, people often talk about choosing a place with a different culture, different food, different architecture, and different activities etc. But what all of these often equal is a place with a different relationship to time.
I believe that this is an incredibly special place, and I want to share it with others.
I have spent a lot of time here. I have visited again and again and have created relationships so I can routinely rediscover the very special things about their way of life and share them with you. I can make sure you have the chance to tap into that nectar of life these people enjoy in this special place. We will catch the glimpse that would be very difficult to get otherwise. In order to share this place, I have created an opportunity to come and experience it first hand the best way I know how.
